Help & FAQ

What is MiceTravelers?

MiceTravelers tracks how far your mouse "travels" across the screen, along with clicks, scrolls, keystrokes, and which apps you use. A lightweight desktop client records each session and uploads an encrypted summary; this site turns it into charts, heatmaps, rankings, and a globe that plots your total distance travelled.

The Dashboard
  • Day / Week / Month / Year / Custom — pick the time range up top.
  • Overview — key metrics, activity, click distribution, and the mouse & keyboard heatmaps.
  • Mouse Path Heatmap — where your cursor spent time, per monitor. Use the dropdown to switch between whole-screen and a specific app.
  • Keyboard Heatmap — each key coloured by how often you pressed it (whole keyboard or per app).
  • Timeline / Applications / Sessions — deeper breakdowns by time and program.
The Globe

Your mouse travels real distance every day. The Globe page takes your lifetime distance and draws it as a great-circle line from your start city (currently New York City) across a rotating Earth — so you can see just how far your cursor has wandered.

Privacy

The desktop client uploads aggregate statistics (counts, distances, densities) — not screenshots or the actual contents of what you type. Credentials are encrypted in transit.

FAQ

My dashboard is empty for today.

The Day view only covers since local midnight. Switch to Week to see more.

The heatmaps say "No data".

That range has no captured mouse/key data yet. Try a wider range, or keep the client running.
